ANTIQUES ROADSHOW CHOOSES CATTLEMAN’S FOR SEGMENT SHOT
EL PASO, TEXAS – The ol’ west is about to come alive at Cattleman’s Steakhouse. The PBS production of the “Antiques Roadshow” is coming to town, and they’ve chosen the world-renowned steakhouse to shoot a short segment on the various facets and importance of antique Texas spurs on Thursday, June 16, 2011. The taping will begin at 9:00 a.m. and is expected to go well into the afternoon.
Spur expert, Bruce Shackelford, will accompany host, Mark L. Walberg, to discuss the style, construction and value of the distinguishable spurs.
The show, which has over 10 million viewers and is eight-time Emmy nominated, wanted Cattlemen’s for its creative segment because of the interior and western feel of the rustic steakhouse.
Cattleman’s, which opened in 1973 and has won several awards for it’s top of the line steak, sits on a vast area of land that’s decorated in western appeal with several antique wagons scattered along the grounds.
The show’s host, executive producer, and the expert on the scene will be open and available between 10:30 a.m. - 1 p.m. for interviews and questions from the press.
The remainder of the show will be filmed on Saturday, June 18, 2011 at the Judson Williams Convention Center. Collectors from all over the region will bring their collectables and have them appraised by real experts to determine the real value of their item. The trip to El Paso will prove to be a success for the “Antiques Roadshow” as it is officially sold out with about 6,000 tickets sold.
